The Production Planner supports the effective deployment of production control processes according to predefined deployment objectives and strategies.

 

In this role, you will:

 

  • Facilitate and communicate production scheduling and weekly production planning sessions for VISSC Emergent Work packages, working directly with multidisciplinary/multi-company teams.
  • Interface and collaborate with multi-disciplinary and culturally diverse teams from different organizations to effectively deploy project production control processes to predefined objectives and strategies.
  • Implement updates to production plans to ensure work execution for given control cycles (e.g., shift, day, week, etc.) including effective resource allocation based on priorities driven by Last Responsible Moment dates (or other criteria), contributes to achieving business and project objectives.
  • Maintain production schedules in order to ensure all deliverables are effectively completed according to project objectives, with work occurring according to agreed milestone dates, batch sizes, sequence and optimal use of resources.
  • Operate Project Production Control software: SPS|PM.
  • Facilitate definition, design and validation of work processes with teams to optimize execution of work activities.
  • Engage, educate and train project team members in the effective use of project production control processes and SPS|PM.
  • Support team in effective use of project production control.
  • Analyze production analytics generated through the ongoing use of project production control; identify and report opportunities for improvement to management.
  • Possess strong interest and desire to grow knowledge in project production control and propagate to teams and stakeholders.
  • Ensure all quality and health & safety standards are maintained, and communicate health and safety issues as required.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement and be output focussed.
  • Drive and motivate others to perform to targets.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary and reasonable.

 

As our ideal candidate, you should have:

 

  • Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain a neutral position as a facilitator or in a facilitative role.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and an ability to understand complex process relationships.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to set and meet deadlines.
  • You are eligible for a Canadian NATO Secret Security Clearance, Canadian Controlled Goods and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) clearances.
  • Project planning/scheduling experience (would be advantageous but not essential).
  • Experience within the marine industry and particularly with Submarines is preferred (but not required).
