In this role, you will:

• Lead & co-ordinate interdisciplinary teams to deliver planning, production, engineering, commissioning, and subcontract work scopes to achieve project milestones.
• Utilizing project execution control methodology, lead teams to develop daily and weekly workface plans, and detailed project planning schedules.
• Coordinate with Project Management to integrate detailed planning schedules into project master schedule, identify schedule risks, and implement recovery plans when required.
• Co-ordinate Babcock sub-contract activities for the Extended Docked Work Period (EDWP) of HMCS Victoria.
• Ensure quality controls and processes are being implemented and provide support to quality control and assurance audits.
• Participate in project metric and performance monitoring systems and provide feedback on variances and achievements.
• Provide inputs and support to cost and schedule forecasting efforts.
• Support Change Management processes and identify and manage operational project risks for assigned work scope.
• Carry out lessons learned at key points throughout the Extended Docked Work Period (EDWP).
• Implement a people-first leadership strategy, with a focus on embedding a culture of trust, teamwork, empowerment, and accountability.
• Challenge existing processes and procedures and identify opportunities for improvements for the successful delivery of the project.

The ideal candidate brings:

• Previous experience in a Project Leadership role or similar with a proven track record of managing interdisciplinary teams.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification to Project Management Institute (PMI) or be actively working towards this certification within eighteen months of attaining this role.
• Strong communication skills that can provide relevant messaging to various levels of the organization.
• Ability to build relationships, empower individuals and establish collaborative working environments.
• Broad technical experience with a focus on implementing Engineering Changes is an asset.
• Submarine experience is considered an asset.
• Experience in a unionized labour environment and multiple subcontracts is considered an asset.
• Proof that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, meaning that you must have received the full series of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by the Government of Canada with the final dose at least 14 days prior to your start date
• You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance
