In this role, you will:


  • Responsible for the occupational Health & Safety of all direct reports
  • Provide leadership and oversight for a team of ~10 naval architects and surveyors to execute on-site inspections, repair specifications and deviations/waivers for complex systems and structures
  • Assess, document, and communicate risks associated with submarine naval architecture and structures to both internal and external customers.
  • Be responsive to Program Managers for dynamic program delivery requirements in a shipyard waterfront environment
  • Identify risks, impacts, mitigations and opportunities.


As our ideal candidate,


  • Graduated from a recognized institution with post-secondary education or completed an apprenticeship in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Submarine systems knowledge and experience, including operations and maintenance (5+ years) desirable.
  • Experience (5+ years) with submarine naval architecture and structures is highly desirable.
  • Experience (5+ years) with submarine and naval mechanical systems engineering is highly desirable.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience (5+ years) managing technical teams is highly desirable.
  • Submarine-specific operational experience or equivalent machinery technician qualifications in a senior capacity an asset
  • Working knowledge of ITAR and security protocols; and
  • Required security clearance: NATO SECRET, CGP positively security assessed and ITAR positively assessed as required.
