In this role, you will:

 

  • Provide guidance, oversight and overall accountability of data management and reporting in Operations Finance and Cost Control
  • Manage and develop the Operations Finance and Cost Control processes and documentation
  • Ensure production of accurate project, programme and operational reporting in the required format and in accordance with required deadlines
  • Develop and manage the financial position reporting against ongoing contracts as well as associated risk
  • Provide accurate and effective management information to support KPI reporting for operational, programme and project managers
  • Lead the Operations Finance and Cost Control delivery team
  • Liaise with Babcock Finance to ensure all corporate financial reporting needs are supported and met by operations
  • Support Babcock Canada in providing timely information to meet regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies from a financial perspective
  • Prepare contract review reports and attend meetings as required
  • Produce ad-hoc forecasts and revised budgets as requested
  • Liaise with operational management to provide accounting support, cost control, systems development and procedural control as required
  • Attend customer and supplier meetings as required
  • Perform other duties as necessary

 

As our ideal candidate,

 

  • You hold a post-secondary degree or diploma in a Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • You have a CPA designation or equivalent
  • You have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior accounting or financial role
  • You have a minimum of 2 years’ experience leading a team of skilled employees
  • You have a strong understanding of cost control and project management processes
  • You have intermediate to advanced Excel skills, good knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems (experience utilizing IFS is an asset)
  • You are able to plan, prioritise and deliver to firm deadlines
  • You are able to create and maintain strong relationships with key internal customers and stakeholders
  • You have exceptional attention to detail
  • You are eligible for Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearances
