In this role, you will:


  • Report directly to the Senior Manager, Electrical Engineering and contribute to the successful delivery of platform system projects.
  • Technically lead small multidisciplinary teams to support the installation design and integration of new and replacement equipment related to platform sub-systems within the Victoria Class Submarines. This includes conducting customer meetings, capturing and managing requirements, leading design reviews, specifying and managing the scope of work, etc.
  • Produce proposals for new work in accordance with company policy.
  • Complete and oversee a range of engineering tasks: feasibility studies, detailed designs, calculations, etc.
  • Develop knowledge of Defence Standards, Military Specifications, Engineering Change Policy and other relevant guiding principles in the design and integration of submarine specific systems including but not limited to power, control, energy storage & conversion)


The ideal candidate brings:


  • An undergraduate degree with a focus in Electrical Engineering from an accredited organisation.
  • 4+ years’ relevant experience as an Electrical Engineer.
  • Submarine platform systems experience or high assurance and complex design environment experience (e.g. nuclear, aerospace, etc.) is an asset.
  • Experience with design development and manufacture of low volume equipment to CSA SPE-1000 would be considered an asset.
  • 2+ years’ experience in systems integration and design.
  • 2+ years’ experience conducting comprehensive reviews of technical documents.
  • Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer (PEng) in British Columbia.
  • Experience leading technical projects and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in a shipyard and knowledge of shipyard safe work practices is an asset.
  • Proof that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, meaning that you must have received the full series of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by the Government of Canada with the final dose at least 14 days prior to your start date
  • You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance
