In this role, you will:


  • Ensure Babcock Canada’s Commercial and Health and Safety policies and procedures are compliant within the legal entity that they are being placed.
  • Assist the Inventory and Requisition Controller as and when required with the day to day operation of the Inventory Control section in support of the project. This includes, but is not limited to coordinating material acquisition from Department of National Defence (DND) sources, demand planning, and material requirements.
  • Occasional processing of cataloguing requests and maintenance of the item master records in the database software (IFS).
  • Assist in monitoring end user material requirements.
  • Support material validation of project requirements.
  • Process material requirements through Babcock Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to allow procurement action
  • Review inventory data to assist with the evaluation of material demand requirements.
  • Assist in the processing of high priority requirements originating from DND.
  • Liaise with client to track project priorities and maintain a shared data base with status updates.
  • Monitor automated reports to prioritize new demand and identify deletions.
  • Coordinate inquiries regarding inventory holdings.
  • Initiate purchase orders for material from DND held inventory, monitor delivery dates and expedite as necessary to meet project required by dates.
  • Assess material requirements for Variation Orders.
  • Process Change Requests and Change Request Impact Assessments directed to the Inventory Control Cell.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Assist in documenting work processes for the Inventory Control Cell.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.


As our ideal candidate,


  • You have a minimum 2 years’ experience working in a fast paced business environment.
  • You hold a High School Diploma or equivalent; College or University diploma an asset.
  • You hold an APICS Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or equivalent – considered an asset.
  • You are skilled in the use of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • You have experience in an Inventory and Material Management environment an asset.
  • You have familiarity with ERP software. Knowledge of IFS or SAP an asset.
  • You have working knowledge of DND Supply System and DRMIS Experience an asset
  • You are able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
  • You are a self-starter with exceptional interpersonal and decision making skills with the ability to work with limited supervision.
  • You have a proven track record of effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security Clearance.
