General Description of Job


Providing delivery and support to the Naval Service (NS) Apprenticeship Programmes for the logistics branch personnel.


To deliver high quality assessment in line with Company standards and contractual requirements.


FOAP (T) operates within an era of severe budgetary pressure for the MoD; as such all employees are required to:

  • Ensure that they work in an effective collaborative manner with MoD staff, displaying the appropriate behaviours at all times



Main Tasks


  • To provide Apprenticeship/award Programme assessments and support for Hospitality Apprentices within Raleigh.
  • Under the Supervisors authorisation, work closely with the NS and National Authorities/Agencies, to ensure a consistent and compliant Apprenticeship and occupational awards delivery output.
  • Maintain Apprenticeship/award documentation to meet RN and external Authority/Agency quality control and contract requirements.
  • As directed by the Manager/Supervisor, conduct Apprenticeship/award quality control activities to ensure service outputs. (This may include travel and overnight stay)
  • Seek Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives within the Raleigh output areas.  Maximise performance delivery, innovative new approaches to deliver savings.  Feeding back to the Training Delivery Team Supervisor/Manager (Raleigh Apprenticeships).
  • Maintain currency and SQEP in line with technical experience and wider post requirements.
  • To be responsible for the duty of care of trainees under your control.
  • Ensure Company health, safety and environmental procedures are implemented and complied with at all times for all employees and trainees under your direction procedures are implemented and complied with at all times for all employees and trainees under your direction



Technical Experience and Qualifications



  • Qualified to L3 or equivalent in the required logistical competency or have 5 years proven required Logistical experience, as a NCO or above, within the Armed Services.
  •  Hold Level 2 qualifications in Maths/English
  • Hold ECDL or equivalent demonstrable proficiency in using IT (hardware/software) within the workplace



  •  Hold a L4 Teaching qualification or equivalent
  •  Hold an quality assurance Assessor Award Qualification (A1 equivalent) *
  •  Hold an Internal quality assurance award (V1 or equivalent) *
  •  Hold Level 3 Award for Workplace Coaching and/or Mentoring



Some desirable ‘Technical Experiences or Qualifications’ marked by an asterisk (*) are essential requirements to fully undertake the post role requirements once in post.  A successful candidate not holding these criteria will be fully supported by the company, via an agreed training plan, to gain these requirements.

    Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carries out any other appropriate tasks that may be required from time to time
  • Employees are responsible for their own Health and Safety and that of work colleagues and also students in their care
  • The nature of RN training requires a high degree of flexibility for all staff; there may be a requirement for travel between  delivery sites within the UK
