Who we are looking for?

DSG Ashchurch is offering qualified vehicle fitter/mechanics the opportunity to work on a variety of military vehicles including HGVs and heavy armour vehicles/tanks. You’ll be in charge of servicing, repairing and maintaining these vehicles as well as the electrical equipment including diagnostic and inspection duties. Carrying out equipment examination to meet production requirements. This is an exciting position within a varied and interesting role with a great work/life balance.

What will you be doing?
•    Carry out work to the required standard and specification as detailed in accordance with EMERs & AESP’s, customer requirements, current regulations, local instructions, process plans and other technical publications
•    Undertake diagnostic and inspection duties on equipment
•    Completion equipment documentation and test certificates / reports
•    Maintain the requirements of COSHH, Health & Safety and other statutory regulations. Ensure a good standard of housekeeping, cleanliness and safety in his work area to ensure the correct disposal of any hazardous or waste products.
•    The post holder will be required to work flexibly and should be prepared to perform other tasks that are outside the normal duties of the post but are within the capabilities and grade
•    Always look for Continuous Improvement and efficient ways of working, promoting good ideas and suggestions.

The experience you’ll bring

Vehicle Mechanic Indentured Apprenticeship or equivalent NVQ L3, or UK Forces Class 1 Vehicle Mechanic
Good inter-personal communication skills
Good team Worker


Hold a DVSA or equivalent qualification (Vehicle Examiner) or be Ex Military REME Class 1 Vehicle Mechanic
Vehicle Electrical diagnostic experience/qualifications
SC cleared (or will be actioned following recruitment)
Competent in IT skills including Word, Excel, Outlook
