The role

As a Platform Engineer you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be part of an experienced team who support the UK Armed forces with platform support across the Warrior, Ajax and Bulldog vehicle programmes. Previous military vehicle experience is however not a necessity, we welcome applications from all engineering backgrounds. 

 

Day to day, you’ll support to our engineering teams, creating innovative solutions to the problems they face. 

 

  • Responsible for delivering timely and effective investigation and response to requests for technical / quality assistance.
  • Creating non-conformance reports and support implementation of containment/corrective actions.
  • Responsible for the maintenance (currency and completeness) and availability of all Technical Information (legacy and new) including but not limited to AESPs, Repair Schemes, Drawings relating to Med/ Light Platforms. 
  • Create and maintain work instructions and Technical Docs.
  • Responsible for the promotion of change and maintenance activities relating to Engineering related Platform ERP data.
  • To provide timely and effective Engineering support to the supply chain, including, but not limited identifying critical criteria for contract let and evaluating prospective suppliers, supporting Supplier Management, identifying (and documenting) non-conformance and supporting Supplier and Quality Audits. 

 

This role is on a full time basis employed on a 12 month fixed-term contract. Contracted 37 hours per week with hybrid and agile working options. 

 

Essential experience of the Platform Engineer:

  • Previously working within an engineering role, creating solutions to problems such as non-conformances. 
  • Ability to make rational decisions based on information available
  • Demonstrates awareness of and ability to work collaboratively

 

Qualifications of the Platform Engineer:

  • Educated to Level 2 in National Qualification Framework (NQF) as a minimum.

 

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
