The difference our new Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician will make
As a Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. self-supervising and organise the day to day running of the Babcock GSE section.

Day to day, you’ll be Responsible to the Head of Aircraft Maintenance, self-supervise and organise the day to day running of the GSE section at 2nd Signatory Level - Support Staff with Supervisory Responsibilities - Ensure that all servicing and maintenance of GSE is carried out in compliance with the appropriate maintenance authorities of:

•    Equipment Publications and Technical instructions.
•    Military Regulatory Publications.
•    Babcock Maintenance Organisation Exposition, Manual of Maintenance Procedures and Manual of Local Maintenance Procedures.

You will also be recording and re-forecasting maintenance using the MoD JAMES computer system, help with the signing of equipment documentation in accordance with individual authorisations. Control and custody of all MoD/Babcock equipment, replacement parts, spares, and consumables, including domestic facilities. Help with the compliance with authorised procedures for accountability during receipt, custody and dispatch or disposal events. Maintain an awareness of the principles of air safety/health and safety when undertaking personal duties, application of the company’s policy throughout maintenance operations to achieve a safe working practice. Regular monitoring of safety standards within own work area to ensure compliance with legislation and company air safety/ health and safety policy. Proactively highlighting safety issues for management action. Be Aware of Mil CAMO Procedures and Instructions and carry out own duties satisfactorily with regard to the company's best interests.

Essential experience
•    Be suitably trained and qualified with a minimum of 5 years aircraft GSE experience to undertake the contracted tasks and hold a company approval as a       GSE Technician at 2nd Signatory Level - Support Staff with Supervisory Responsibilities.
•    Recording and re-forecasting GSE maintenance using the MoD JAMES computer system, cleared to JAMES Level 6 – Senior Equipment Manager.
•    Experience in lifting equipment – LOLER, Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) of electrical equipment and ladder and racking inspections.
•    Experience within an MRP 145 maintenance environment
•    Obtain or have the ability to obtain BPSS Clearance
