Business Winning Bid Writer (Maternity Cover 1 year)



About the role

Here at Babcock International we’re looking to recruit a Business Winning Bid Writer (Maternity Cover 1 year).

You will be accountable to Head of Business Winning for working with the SMEs to write the proposal content as defined but the ITT, in accordance with the customers’ requirements.

Specific responsibilities include:


  • Engagement with SME’s in order to help produce a draft response
  • Convert outline draft into fully compliant high quality submissions
  • Deliver an effective and compelling writing style that see’s the proposal delviered as ‘one voice’. Maintaining a visible progress status that allows the Bid Manager, SMEs and Writers to focus on readiness, completed responses and sections requiring additional support.

Please note that the bid writers are not responsible for generating a written technical answer. This role is to support the SME author with the development of a compliant response by applying a consistent writing style. The SME will remain responsible for identifying the detailed solution and supporting facts & figures.

What do I need to do the role?

You’ll an excellent command of grammar and the ability to take technical information from subject matter experts to produce consistent bid proposals. Ideally a background or qualification in English Literature, Journalism, Technical Writing, Copy Writing or Marketing would be beneficial.

We would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:

  • Proven track record of  coordinating the writing and compilation of proposal documents or equivalent document production experience.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • A level English minimum
