Technical Trainer - BMW

Babcock presently operates a long-term contract with BMW Group Australia to act as its strategic partner in the delivery of world-class training services. BMW Group Technical Training Team has continued to grow and to support this growth, we presently have an exciting, full time permanent opportunity for an experienced and professional Technical Trainer to join our high performing team based in Mulgrave.

 

About the Role

As a BMW Group Technical Trainer, you will be responsible for planning and implementing key strategies to support the delivery of training programs to the dealer network in all Technical and Apprentice streams, including the expanding High Voltage Technology used in Vehicle Electrification. You will monitor and align training services to the requirements of BMW Head Office Qualification standards, BMW Group Australia, and dealership requirements. You will perform the role of a trainer, coach, mentor and provide the highest standard of training delivery as a brand ambassador for the BMW Group.

 

As the successful candidate, your key responsibilities would include but not be limited to:

  • Set-up and deliver training in accordance with BMW practices, delivering a rich learning environment thereby ensuring learning objectives are achieved
  • Program and content development, delivery & assessment
  • Ensure that relevant qualifications and certificates are delivered in accordance with company direction.
  • Provide timely and effective training solutions aligned to customer needs
  • Work collaboratively with other internal stakeholders and oversee and deliver implementation of the BMW Qualification commitments
  • Maintain and deliver relevant and up to date training programs in relation to the Apprentice and Technician development programs
  • Review and design training programs in collaboration with the BMW Training Management Team that utilises the latest learning methodology
  • Conduct research to obtain all relevant information for new and updated training programs.
  • Provide advice on new technologies to other technical and non-technical Trainers
  • Deliver high quality technical training programs to train and support internal staff
  • Contribute to the review of career pathways and associated training to ensure that these meet the needs of dealer network
  • Work with the Contract Manager and BMW Training Management team to develop an approach to blended learning as well as adapt learning material to meet the requirements of this learning platform
  • Liaise in partnership with BMW and the Contract Manager to identify training needs within the BMW Network
  • Work with the Contract Manager and TMSI team to plan and schedule courses/events in line with BMW requirements
  • Work in collaboration with the TMSI Manager to manage TMSi database
  • Liaise with internal departments on technical matters relating to the development and delivery of training ensure courses
  • Identify areas of development, upskill to expand knowledge, and increase the number of courses in your portfolio

 

About You

To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally possess the following skills and qualifications:

 

  • Cert IV Workplace Assessment and Training (TAE40116)
  • Internal BMW certification
  • Previous experience as a Technical Trainer
  • Demonstrated capability using wide range of facilitation skills and techniques to deliver learning outcomes
  • Excellent BMW technical understanding
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of products – Outlook, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
