About the role

Here at Babcock International we’re looking to recruit an Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Commissioning Engineer to join our Liquified Gas Equipment (LGE) Division. We design and supply cargo handling systems for liquefied gas ships across the globe. LGE is an incredibly innovative and diverse business with patented designs working with LPG, LNG, Ethane, Ethylene and new projects with CO2.

 

Our Head Office is in Rosyth, with most projects mainly in South Korea and China at the biggest shipyards in the world. With a diverse product portfolio in numerous markets, we offer an exciting opportunity to join an ever-growing business with longevity.

We are looking to recruit an EC&I Commissioning Engineer to based on site at the largest shipyard in the world - Ulsan Shipyard in South Korea. You will be part of a very close and supportive team of highly experienced Engineers.

 

Working closely with the Site Manager, Site based Commissioning Team, and shipyard’s operations team, the CI&E Commissioning Engineer provides commissioning and start-up support for the Cargo Handling Plant equipment for LPG and LNG carriers during the final building phase in the shipyard and as required through on board attendance during gas trials, in service and dry-docking contracts.
You may also be required to support with other Commissioning projects located at other Shipyards across South Korea and China for Gas Trials and a vessel’s first voyage etc.

 

What do I need to do the role?

You’ll need to have practical experience in marine environment as CI&E engineer, ideally in a commissioning environment.

 

Would also like you to:
• Have hands-on technical competence – Electrical and Control (PLC) Systems including Hazardous Area Equipment
• Experience with servicing/calibrating HART protocol instrumentation.
• Reasonable experience with Low and Medium Voltage switchboard equipment.
• Be physically fit
• Hold a valid driving licence
