Document Controller- 2 Year FTC

About the role

Here at Babcock International we’re looking to recruit a Document Controller to join our Liquefied Gas Equipment (LGE) Division. We design and supply cargo handling systems for liquefied gas ships/carriers across the globe. LGE is an incredibly innovative and diverse business with patented designs working with LPG, LNG, Ethane, Ethylene and new projects with CO2.


Our Head Office is in Rosyth, with most projects mainly in South Korea and China at the biggest shipyards in the world. With a diverse product portfolio in numerous markets, we offer an exciting opportunity to join an ever-growing business.


As the Document Controller you will perform all Document Control type work in support of winning and delivering large scale process-engineering themed projects for our key markets including marine and offshore liquefied gas transportation/storage and onshore petrochemical with end-customers of major worldwide shipyards and oil majors.
This includes;
• The preparation and development of drawing & document control registers.
• Receiving of supplier documentation, checking document requirements then issuing to relevant departments ensuring prompt turnaround.
• Controlling approval comments to and from suppliers.
• Expediting suppliers to ensure approval and final documents are received on time.
• Submission of drawings & documents to the relevant classification societies.

Training and development opportunities are available with the potential for this position to be made permanent after the 2 year Fixed Term Contract.


What do I need to do the role?

You’ll need to have experience as a Document Controller and if you have worked in an engineering environment this is preferable and have experience of using Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office.

Would also like you to have excellent communication skills and be able to build strong relationships with all LGE departments and suppliers. 

What else do I need to know?

• We are based at Rosyth, Scotland
• 2 Year FTC with potential to become a permanent position
• Competitive annual salary and excellent benefits.
• 37.5 hours per week; 7:00am to 15:15 Monday to Thursday and 7:00am to 14:00 on Friday.
