Salary - £26,500 - £28,600 dependant on experience

About the role

Here at Babcock International we’re looking to recruit a Training Delivery Instructor/Maintainer (Defence Diving School). to deliver high quality instructional training and training support (maintenance) on specific mechanical and/or Training Equipment in line with Company standards and contractual requirements.

Your main tasks will include being responsible for the maintenance of the Self-Contained Air Diving Equipment (SCADE) to standards laid down in the Planned Maintenance Schedule (PMS), to record the maintenance carried out, report all defects, material shortcomings and design deficiencies on such equipment. Responsible for the replacement, issue, storage, return and defect repair of all SCADE and ‘Diver Through Water Communications’ systems (DTWC). You will instruct SCADE maintenance in accordance with relevant Training Specifications. Assist the Senior Instructor (Local) in updating training documentation, related to their primary subject, to reflect equipment maintenance. Instruct courses, for which SQEP is held, as directed by Senior Instructor (Local). Gain and maintain both technical and instructional/teaching qualification and experience in secondary subjects as directed by Line Management. Gain and maintain instructional SQEP in accordance with company guidelines and policy. Be the custodian of equipment and follow Assets in Use military regulations. Deliver briefings to staff or trainees as required by Line Management. Ensure that the maintenance of all Training Equipment is carried out to enable equipment performance standards to be met and the training programme maintained. Record the implementation of equipment maintenance on existing systems and when introduced, electronic systems, to ensure performance is maintained iaw laid down standards. Provide technical advice to Line Management and MoD departments as required.

What do I need to do the role?

You’ll need previous experience of fault finding, diagnosing and repairing mechanical equipment.

Would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:

  • Knowledge of safe systems of working and H&S legislation.
  • ECDL or equivalent demonstrable proficiency in using IT (hardware/software) within the workplace
  • Qualified academically or vocationally to a minimum of ONC or equivalent in relevant engineering subject
  • Full UK Driving License

What else do I need to know?

  • You should hold or have the ability to obtain SC Clearance
