About the role:


The SAP SuccessFactors Functional Consultant is a crucial role in the SAP AMS (Application Management Services) organisation and is responsible for the functional support, change and configuration the SuccessFactors and SAP HCM support solution. 


Working closely with our customers to deliver, functional support, analysis, configuration/change and continuous improvement, the team lead is responsible for ensuring that SuccessFactors, HCM payroll and integration functionality is available and current to meet the business needs of Babcock cross divisional HR processes.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Provides specialist level functional and configuration knowledge in supporting SAP solutions in the area of SuccessFactors and SAP HCM (ECC6)
  • Detailed understanding and knowledge of integration tools, processes and error handling of SuccessFactors to SAP HR and Payroll applications. (Dell Boomi, HCI, PO, etc.)
  • Work with the SuccessFactors AMS Support team to ensure all incidents and requests and co-ordinate and priorities the team deliverables to ensure all incidents and problems are delivered to SLA.
  • Sound knowledge of SuccessFactors modules/solution (especially Employee Profile/Central, Employee/Position Org, Learning, Performance and Recruitment)
  • Sound configuration and support knowledge of HR and Payroll master data, Structures, Infotype, Wage Types, Work Schedules, Payroll Schemas etc.
  • Excellent knowledge of SuccessFactors user interface, SAP Portal and Fiori.
  • Conduct configuration changes to accommodate change requests/improvements via the Change Request Board.
  • Excellent understanding of configuration dependencies and integration points between separate functional modules of SAP (Finance/Logistics/Procurement/Project Systems)
  • Understands the business processes for HR and how the application supports the processes. Apply this knowledge to solve incidents/problems and deliver changes
  • Work with the Service Desk and the AMS team to facilitate incident & problem resolution.
  • Experience of managing third party providers for support and development (including SAP / SuccessFactors).
  • Perform break/fix analysis and recommend solutions for SuccessFactors, SAP HR, Payroll and related processes.
  • Perform initial testing of problem fixes, change request, enhancements, and new functionality.
  • Ensure Service/Incident Management system, knowledge base and supporting documentation is updated and accurate.
  • Work with the Solution Lead from an AMS support perspective, business implementations, patching (SF quarterly release), releases and upgrades by sharing best practice support, testing and configuration skills.
  • Proactively work with the SuccessFactors and Payroll solution leads to ensure all projects, changes and releases are planned, delivered and transitioned into support successfully and to plan.
  • Work with the Solution leads to ensure an up to date roadmap for HR and Payroll systems exists and is maintained.
  • Keep abreast of SAP releases, enhancements/new functionality and perform application research.
  • Ensure compliance to existing, and development of required data and reporting standards.
  • Provide excellent customer engagement with responding to customer incidents, requirements, problem resolution and process modeling.
  • Conduct configuration changes to accommodate change requests/improvements.
  • Assist in training activities and advice and guidance to the business and AMS team.
  • Participate in new functionality/enhancement assessments and make recommendations.
  • Develops functional specifications and works with BASIS and ABAP teams/ resources to complete object development and testing.
  • Understands and applies Babcock methodologies and procedures.


What do I need to do the role?


Key Skills and Qualifications:


  • A university degree or relevant experience in HR or Information Management.
  • Experience in team leadership and planning within the SAP HCM and SuccessFactors domain.
  • Proven hands-on experience of SuccessFactors, SAP HR support, configuration and integration.




  • Ability to be flexible and work analytically in a problem-solving environment.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience as a consultant or customer facing experiences (Internal or External).
  • Should be comfortable working in a team and independently.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.
  • Experience working in an environment where negotiation, influence, mediation and conflict management skills are required.
  • Desire to improve the current solution.
  • Focus on delivering customer service and quality solutions.




  • Experience or exposure to IT Governance.
  • Exposure to ITIL Framework.
  • Experience of HR, Payroll and shared service centers
  • Domain Expertise in Engineering & Construction will be a plus.
