Legal Counsel (Land Sector)

Compensation: £50-£60,000 dependent on experience + Bonus

This is an exciting opportunity to join Babcock as Legal Counsel to provide support to all areas of the Land Sector. You will provide advice and guidance to all Sector business units on a range of matters including general and specific legal advice.

 

Who we are looking for?

You’ll have a demonstrable track record of working independently on large projects within Commercial Law and the ability to apply sound legal acumen capable of influencing positive outcomes and favourable results in line with the company requirements and expectations. 

 

What will you be doing?

  • Providing legal support and advice to bid, commercial and procurement teams
  • Drafting and advising on complex commercial contracts
  • Advise and support the development of internal business processes
  • Legal reporting in accordance with internal governance requirements
  • Supporting across other Sectors within the Babcock Group, when required

 

The experience you’ll bring

  • A strong commercial background developed in private practice or in-house (B2B)
  • A proficiency in drafting, reviewing, negotiating and interpreting complex contracts on a range of subjects
  • Experience in Technology, IT law and the protection of Intellectual Property Rights
  • English Law qualified Chartered Legal Executive or Solicitor with 1-4 years PQE
  • You must be eligible to work in the UK and have or be able to qualify for SC National Security Vetting
