IT Sourcing Manager

Salary up to £55,000 Per Year

About the role:

Here at Babcock International we currently have the opportunity for an IT Sourcing Manager at our site in Lakeside, Portsmouth.
The successful candidate will create and support the development of Purchasing/Category/Supplier strategies within IT that will provide a structured approach to managing spend that will identify savings opportunities whilst supporting the current and future needs of the business.
This will involve working closely with the key stakeholders within the IT department to determine business requirements, determining appropriate commercial strategies that will deliver cost efficiencies and then identifying and developing suppliers to support the business and its customers.
Take responsibility for locking in savings and benefits through ongoing contract and supplier management activities.
What do I need to do the role?
We would like you be degree qualified or equivalent with relevant procurement experience within the IT Sector.
We would also like you to hold all or some of the following:
• Knowledge of a range of IT related categories, including software, hardware and services.
• Experience in sourcing, contract negotiation, contract management and supplier relationship
• Competent in carrying out all aspects of Purchasing lifecycle within a defined delegation level
• Strong contract negotiator with a good appreciation of commercial law


Continuous Professional Development:
• Willing to contribute and actively undertake an agreed programme of development opportunities.

 What else do I need to know?
You must have or be able to gain MOD SC security clearance and other security clearances as contracts demand; e.g. Met Police, CRB Check.
This role is based in Lakeside, Portsmouth. A vibrant and accessible campus that has shops, restaurants, hairdressers and a nursery on site. It has parking for employees and runs a free shuttle bus from city centre trains and bus stops.
