About the role

Here at Babcock International, we are looking for a Head of Information Assurance & Resilience to provide thought leadership, central governance and security coordination for all Security, Information Assurance (IA) maturity and Business Continuity requirements throughout Land Sector.


This Head of Information Assurance & Resilience will be tasked with driving and optimising IA maturity and security compliance, as well as promoting business efficiencies across the security and policy landscape to support the winning of new business.


You will be responsible for managing the development, review and harmonisation (where sensible) of IA & Security processes, policies and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) across Land and the Business Units.
You will act as the Security, IA and BCP professional lead and champion for the Sector, and drive the operationalisation of business resilience.

 

Major Activities & Accountabilities
• Maintain accreditation of existing assurances through monitoring, audit and improvement across the Sector with focus on Babcock Secure / HMG IAMM L3 and the Data Protection Act, MoD accreditation Standards and customer requirements
• Drive and optimise Security & IA capabilities, culture and benefits across the Sector business units collaborating with BIG and other Sectors
• Represent and support the Sector SIRO at strategic Group Boards and Projects, and on major incidents across the Sector
• Provide thought leadership  as well as manage, collaborate and support a virtual team of IA and Security practitioners across the sector
• Lead the strategic security incidents management and reporting across the Sector
• Evolve and implement the strategic Information Assurance and Resilience Plan across the Sector
• Represent the Sector SIRO at strategic Group Boards and Projects.
• Ensure the provision of Security & IA support to Bids and major projects (including IT)
• Act as Sector Security Assurance Coordinator (SAC) for Government customers

 

Key Outputs/Deliverables
• Provide regular reporting and management information to the Group, Sector and Business Unit leadership teams
• Drive on-going continuous improvement across Land Security & IA domain and BCP
• Lead the cross BU Security & IA   and DPA  and BCP virtual teams
• Own the administration and roll-out of Information Assurance frameworks and tools across the Sector
• Provide IA & BCP professional leadership & expertise for BU IA teams supporting local bids, projects, acquisitions and culture change in relation to IAMM and Security collateral
• Ensure that the Group & Sector security culture is embedded and maintained to agreed standards
• Investigate security incidents on behalf of the SIRO
• Be the IA professional lead  for Land Sector, carrying out audits and reporting issues and  risks to the SIRO
• Develop and deliver the audit schedule for required assurances to ensure straightforward re-accreditation
• Ensure regular domain specific training is carried out for peers and staff across the Sector
• Continue to monitor and update internal governance frameworks for the Sector as and when required and suggest improvements
• Harmonise policies and procedures across Land BUs supporting common objectives

What do I need to do the role?
 

Qualifications
• Degree Educated or equivalent experience in relevant field
• CISM, CISMP or CISSP qualifications required
• Quality Assurance  or Audit experience desirable

 

Company/Industry Knowledge
• Implementation knowledge of HMG IA Standards including SPF, JSP 440 and NCSC guidance.
• Implementation knowledge of International Security and BC standards including ISO 27000,  ISO22301
• Knowledge and experience of Data Protection Act 2018, ITAR
• Practical knowledge of Risk management and treatment
• Understanding of subject matter from an international context

 

Skills & Experience
• Proven track record of consistently achieving performance targets
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to interpret and summarise reports and other statistical data
• IT literate – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio

This role is based in Lakeside, Portsmouth. A vibrant and accessible campus that has shops, restaurants, hairdressers and a nursery on site. It has parking for employees and runs a free shuttle bus from city centre trains and bus stops.
