WordPress / PHP / Full Stack Developer

About the role:


As a WordPress / Full Stack Developer you will be responsible for the build of a new corporate website on a WordPress platform and support on-going developments to the site through an Agile development methodology


Key Tasks: 


  • Development, deployment and testing of a new multi lingual corporate website on a WordPress multisite  platform based on documented requirements and design
  • Development of a shared platform / templates to host microsites
  • On-going development and improvements to the platform based on an Agile development methodology


Additional Accountabilities:


  • Maintaining source control for development assets within ALM system
  • Development on other CMS / web platforms
  • Support and maintenance of the site
  • Providing peer review / cover as part of the wider development team
  • Any other duties as deemed necessary to achieve project goals


What do I need to do the role?


Skills & Experience:


  • 2+ years’ experience in WordPress development including:
  • Installation and configuration of WordPress plugins
  • Front end development incorporating all necessary HTML and CSS into WordPress themes, templates and additional PHP and HTML pages
  • WordPress development including theme and individual template development, plugin tweaks, new feature development
  • HTML5, CSS, SASS, Gulp, JavaScript, React
  • Familiarisation with WordPress 5.0 Gutenberg principles and experience creating new blocks
  • Experience using git and deployment tools to deploy code.
  • PHP, MySQL, Apache, Linux / Ubuntu terminal commands
  • Experience using front end and back end frameworks and an understanding of responsive design.


Technical & Specialist Knowledge


  • Strong debugging and testing skills
  • Ability to create pixel perfect HTML from design files / PSD’s
  • Proven ability to organize work, prioritize tasks and deliver results within tight timeframes
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
  • High degree of flexibility, versatility, and self-motivation
  • Excellent relationship building and communication skills
  • Creative approach to solving problems


What else do I need to know?


You must have or be able to gain MOD SC security clearance and other security clearances as contracts demand; e.g. Met Police, CRB Check.
