Overall Department Direction
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the team and manage the company's Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system, including compliance with the Nuclear Site Licence Condition (SLC) 28, for all nuclear and non-nuclear assets. To be a main contributor to the transformation team in changing Babcock’s Maintenance to meet the internal Asset Analytics modernisation programme and the customers’ expectations for the forthcoming FMSP contract.

 

Main Purpose of Role

 

  • Manage the company's Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system, including compliance with SLC 28, for all nuclear and non-nuclear assets.
  • To manage and lead a team of technical specialists responsible for development and maintenance of the Computerised Maintenance Management System provided as part of Babcock's information services.
  • To develop and maintain the management data capture strategy and provide a reporting structure to present the analysed data making it fully visible to enable managers to improve the business and reduce costs.
  • To instigate, review and implement improvements of the CAFM/IFS system, to achieve business goals and by giving improved cost effectiveness of the maintenance of company's assets.
  • To analyse process and maintenance deficiencies devising training strategies to resolve issues

 

What do I need to do the role?

 

We are looking for someone with n-depth experience in computerised maintenance engineering, Facilities management and field servicing and solid grounding in IT driven business analysis and software development. You should possess project management skills (including scheduling of resources and budget management and be familiar with integration techniques and Electronic Data Interface (EDI).

 

You will be required to keep general technical competence and specialisation up to date with industry developments and demonstrate understanding of Babcock business areas so that technical options and solutions are always relevant.

 

You must also have an understanding of Relational Databases and an understanding of the needs of Babcock users in maintenance management and MOD client requirements would be an advantage. You will also need key I.T skills knowledge, notably of IFS, and also knowledge of SAP would be highly appreciated. You will require a good understanding of Asset Structures and familiarity with the MoD/DIO Spec 024 Facilities & Asset configuration and processes will be highly appreciated and a good understanding of asset management processes.

 

Experience

 

  • Relevant experience of practical maintenance management and product support, relevant experience of application and data base techniques in a client/server environment and relevant experience with project management tools and technique.
  • Must have experience with Window-based personal computer productivity and software tool products.
  • Degree or equivalent experience (HND/C in a computing related or engineering discipline (Or be willing to undergoing training to achieve this)
  • Must have knowledge Database Platforms Oracle and SQL Server
  • Must have experience with programming technologies, VB, VBA, Java & SQL Windows
  • Must have experience of Report Development Applications e.g MS Access, Brio, SQR, Crystal & Actuate.

This role is based at Devonport Royal Dockyard which is located in Plymouth, Devon in the south west of England.
