About the role
Here at babcock International we're looking for a Supply Chain Analyst to join us in support of operational engineering activities at Devonport Royal Dockyard and with key strategic and planning activities (mainly conducted from Bristol. These strategic and planning activities cover a range of areas, including Design Services, Programme Management and Supply Chain -  collectively these activities ensure that the submarine maintenance programme is achievable and that the required number of submarines will be available to the Royal Navy at all times.

 

Within the Supply Chain area one particular activity that helps deliver the submarine maintenance programme is supply chain mapping.  As a Supply Chain Analyst you'll use your passion for data analysis and problem solving to support Babcock’s continued mapping of submarine supply chains. You'll support the development of new supply chain maps by providing analytical insight and management information reports that identify supply chain risk and opportunities within the submarine enterprise.  You'll be responsible for gathering supplier information from a range of sources, managing and manipulating high volumes of data.


What do I need to do the role?
Although not essential, a degree in a relevant field of study and/or working towards CIPS accreditation is desirable.

 

We would also like you to have the following:

  • A working knowledge of supply chain relationships, KPIs and influences on supply chain performance
  • A working knowledge of the Submarine enterprise and/or the defence industry
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, including use of formulas/VBA
  • Experience of managing large data sets
  • Excellent attention to detail

Lastly, you'll need to be able to deploy excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have the ability to interact and build working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders in order to achieve a common goal.


What else do I need to know?

  • This role can be based at either Devonport or Bristol.
  • The successful candidate will hold, or be eligible to acquire, national Security Clearance at the appropriate level for this post.
