About the Role
Here at Babcock International we’re looking for a Senior Project Engineer - Shop Control to join us at HMNB Devonport. We’re a key strategic partner to our customers; the MOD and the Royal Navy. We ensure that the UK Royal Navy goes to sea safely by supporting them in Devonport and around the world, delivering complex ship and submarine sustainment programmes and applying our core strengths of technology and expertise to sustain critical and complex assets to help maintain national security.


As a Senior Project Engineer - Shop Controller you’ll work within the Submarine Support area of Devonport Royal Dockyard supporting the planning and delivery of Manufactured and Overhauled equipment through the Devonport Engineering Shop, acting as a focal point between Submarine Projects and Engineering Shops. You’ll monitor and control equipment delivery from the Shop and produce reports to support planning and delivery of Submarine Project equipment. You’ll also attend Shop Lookahead meetings and Project Progress meetings to provide delivery and planning updates.

 

What do I need to be able to do the role?
You'll hold a minimum of ONC in a relevant Engineering discipline and have experience gained in a Project / Production environment.

 

We would also like you to have the following:

  • Good working knowledge of PEPS.
  • Know ledge of IFS desirable, but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
  • Motivated individual with good problem solving attributes.

Lastly, you’ll need to be able to deploy strong interpersonal and communications skills (both verbal and written) and have the ability to operate and interface effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

 

What else do I need to know?
The successful candidate will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving ‘Security Check’ (SC) clearance.
