About the Role

A new Senior Engineer, reporting to the Principal Engineer, is required to be hired to support the EC&I technical team in providing their Design and Technical Authority responsibilities to the business. The primary purpose of the Senior EC&I Engineer within the Technical Authority is to provide expert technical advice on a number of hardware-based C&I systems. The Senior EC&I Engineer is responsible to the Principal Engineer for the provision of technical support and advice on maintaining the design intent of existing C&I systems and equipment, including:

What do I need to be able to do the role?

You will need to have a design background in Control and Instrumentation. We have 2 positions with one focusing on hardware and one looking at software. For the software position a knowledge of SCADA based systems would be advantageous. The role is split into 2 parts, firstly providing technical support for all of the assetts within the dockyard and secondly to provide a design consultancy function of the department where the activities are generally focused on the provision of new, or modification to; C&I designs,

 

We would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:

 

  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical engineering principles for developing and maintaining C&I systems;
  • In-depth experience of designing C&I systems;
  • Extensive knowledge of hardware-based control logic; - for the hardware role
  • Awareness of software-based control systems; - for the software role
  • Proficiency in understanding electrical and process engineering drawings;
