As a Primavera P6 Planner/Scheduler, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced project planning and scheduling professional who thrives working to provide clarity and coherence to strategic plans across a multi £billion business and a critical UK defence capability. The role works at the heart of Babcock’s submarine maintenance business delivering strategic analysis and portfolio programming for the UK’s submarine maintenance and disposal programme. This role resides in the Strategic Programming team within the Bristol based Submarine Support Engineering (SSE) organisation. The incumbent will be responsible for leading the development of a central business level portfolio view of our strategic programme of work, including supporting the business to bring coherence and integration to their projects and programmes and alignment to strategic requirements.

 

Day to day, you’ll lead and help develop a portfolio plan for the business including proactive leadership of stakeholder engagement and facilitation across the business and client organisation to ensure organisation collaboration and coherence on plans. You’ll get to Develop a knowledge of submarine maintenance and disposal business operations, using this to intelligently develop the portfolio plan and understand the plans across the business. You’ll work with the central planning and scheduling team to provide leadership across the business to develop the vision, concept, and frameworks for integrated planning and P6 scheduling. This is a high profile and high impact role and a unique opportunity to build a wide network with important and senior stakeholders.

Essential experience

 

  • Extensive recent and relevant planning and scheduling experience in a similar environment / business sector
  • Advanced knowledge and practical experience using P6 scheduling toolsets
  • Experience facilitating planning across a complex business rather than just scheduling
  • Experience developing executive reporting concepts for complex organisation scheduling information and ways to analyse and report on plan and deliver health and alignment to strategic objectives
  • A strong sense of ownership and responsibility for the timeliness, quality, and validity of outputs
  • Experience management diverse direct or indirect teams to deliver outputs to senior stakeholders
