We’re looking for a Project Engineer within the Nuclear Facilities Project Delivery Team to join us at HMNB Devonport, one of the largest naval bases in Western Europe. We’re a key strategic partner to our customers; the MOD and the Royal Navy. We ensure that the UK Royal Navy goes to sea safely by supporting them in Devonport and around the world, delivering complex ship and submarine sustainment programmes and applying our core strengths of technology and expertise to sustain critical and complex assets to help maintain national security.

The Nuclear Facilities Project Delivery Team are currently managing a Dock Readiness programme, a number of Facilities LIFEX works and numerous projects under the SRC “Get well” programme.

There are over 100 requirements in the SRC pipeline, with a large proportion requiring Project Delivery. The Nuclear Facilities Project Delivery Team will be expanding over the next few years to enable the delivery of these projects.

As the Project Engineer you will support the growing workload and assist in delivery of projects and provide project engineering support to the SRC NucFac Projects. Engage with subcontractors and stakeholders. You will author and review project documentation.  

 

What do I need to do the role?

You will have at a Minimum ONC in Engineering Field or equivalent technical experience and APM or recognised Project Management qualification or equivalent experience

 

We would also like you to have experience in the following areas:

  • Within the Engineering Industry
  • Knowledge/understanding of Dockside Services / Facilities/Building Services
  • Proficient in the application of Project Management Tools and how they are utilised throughout the Project Lifecycle
  • Previous experience in technical documentation of major projects

 

Lastly you will be a Good team player with well-developed communication skills and a good organiser
