As a First Line Manager you’ll work within the Submarine Production team at Devonport Dockyard overseeing a team of mechanical fitters. You’ll ensure that all allocated resources are suitably qualified and experienced for the tasking allocated. You’ll also ensure the day-to-day compliance with corporate nuclear safety requirements, including the completion of quality documentation, and be responsible for managing the Health and Safety processes for your team and the wider workplace.
What do I need to do the role?

We would also like you to have the following:

  • Good working knowledge of the Health & Safety processes associated with Production activities.

Lastly, this position requires someone who has a strong team ethic, excellent leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.

What else do I need to know?

  • The post-holder may be required to work on-board Submarines in radiological areas and in confined spaces.
  • There may be a requirement for shift-work and overtime.
  • The successful candidate will hold, or be eligible to acquire, national Security Clearance at the appropriate level for this post.
  • Passport, licences and qualification documentation must be presented at interview stage.
