Field & Test Engineer
Location: Devonport, Plymouth

About the role role


Babcock Mission Systems provides Engineering support to a number of key customers – developing, supplying, installing and commissioning complex electronic information and communication systems and providing through-life in-service support. To deliver this support an engineer is required to provide electronic system field and test engineering expertise to existing customer contracts as well as business development opportunities.


What do I need to be able to do this role?


  • Knowledge and practical experience of installation, commissioning and setting to work of complex networked electronic information and communication systems.
  • IT/Network skills including configuration of various network devices such as routers and switches.
  • Ability to pick-up and use new development tools with minimal supervision.
  • Experience of systems employing radio frequency techniques, practices and operation of associated test equipment.
  • HNC/HND in IT/Computer Engineering or Electronics is acceptable with suitable experience in communications/network electronic system engineering.

  • All applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK and be subject to satisfactory security clearance which includes 3 years reference checks. Verification of any qualifications/passport/licences must be shown at interview stage.
