About the role

 

Here at Babcock International we are looking to recruit Electrical Design Engineer to join our team based at HMNB Devonport, Plymouth who are responsible for supporting the Navy with a variety of supporting services.

 

You’ll be part of a team that has vast experience in Power Distribution who design, install and maintain complex power systems and equipment across site, which support facilities,  surface vessels and submarines.

 

We are looking for a proven Electrical Engineer to provide professional and flexible technical solutions to the ongoing operations and maintenance.

The secondary purpose of the role is to provide support to the Design Consultancy function of the department where the activities are generally focussed on the provision of new, or modification to; designs, equipment and facilities as well as injection of new capabilities and undertaking life extensions activities.

 

What skills will be needed?

 

  • Understand electrical engineering principles for developing and maintaining electrical power systems.
  • Ability to understand and produce electrical engineering drawings.
  • You will need a minimum of HNC or equivalent in an Electrical/Electronic Engineering discipline.

  • If the required knowledge, skills, experience and competences are not sufficient then a Band 4 Trainee Design Engineer post may be considered.
