The Electrical & Electronic Design Engineer role is based within our Mission Systems business area.

The role
The difference our new Electrical & Electronic Design Engineer will make

As an Electrical & Electronic Design Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary, working within the Weapons Technical Team and the Electronics Repair Facility.


Day to day, you’ll be operating within the CWEW Technical Department, undertaking technical activities in support of the Technical Department across all weapon systems supported at CWEW (4.5” Gun, Phalanx CIWS, Harpoon, Triper and future bid opportunities).

Essential experience
•    Knowledge of relevant standards for electrical design, qualification and acceptance.
•    Knowledge of DEF STAN/ BS EN/ BR desirable.
•    Experienced designer, repairer or tester of electrical/ electronic systems. Component level knowledge desirable.
•    Knowledge of electrical/ electronic components and circuits for analogue, digital and Radio Frequencies (RF) assemblies.
•    Experienced designer, through concept, detailed and trial stages, producing substantiation and qualification data.
