As a Clerk of Works (CoW) you’ll oversee construction projects, monitoring progress against programme, ensuring compliance with Scope of Work, drawings and quality requirements. You'll also ensure compliance with the appropriate statutory, health, safety and environmental requirements for any plant, process or project you'll be tasked with supporting.
Your responsibilities will include, but won't be limited to;- production of daily/ weekly site contractor progress reports;  providing support to the Project Managers and Project Engineers throughout the Project Lifecycle; interfacing with other Submarine Refit Complex (SRC) Project Teams and Controlling Officers in order to resolve Project issues; assisting sub-contractors with scheduled site visits and site access requirements.

This position offers significant project delivery challenges and will present excellent career development opportunities to the successful candidate .
What do I need to do the role?
You’ll need to have a Clerk of Works qualification and/or equivalent training/experience. Strong CDM (Construction Design & Management Regulations) knowledge and experience is also essential for this role.

We would also like you to have the following:

  • Considerable experience of managing subcontractors (essential)
  • Mechanical / Electrical or Civils Background
  • Good understanding of Maximo Work Orders (desirable)
  • CSCS Card Holder
  • Confined Space Trained

Lastly, you'll have good interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to interface effectively with Project teams, internal stakeholders and subcontractors.
