Administration Apprenticeship

Our Administration apprenticeship will offer you the chance to gain valuable qualifications as well as impressive experience in the workplace whilst earning a competitive salary at the same time!


You will follow a well-supported, structured learning and development programme to equip you with all the skills and knowledge you will need to build a fantastic career with Babcock.


During your first year you will complete three placements lasting four months each in various areas of the business to gain real life work experience whilst completing your qualification. Your second year will see you embark on a 12 month placement to expand your skills and define your career path.


Our 24 month apprenticeship programme will enable you to develop a range of highly transferable administration tasks and skills including:


› Collating and preparing reports

› Administer travel requests both UK and International

› Facilitate meetings to include agenda preparation, typing and distribution of minutes and sourcing a venue

› Diary management up to Director level

› Manage the company switchboard on a rota system

› Liaise with colleagues and customers at all levels

› Provide all general administrative support within a department as required


You will also complete various apprentice projects further developing your team work, communication and problem solving skills as well as your own self confidence as you take on the role of Project Manager.  Projects will also help you understand the needs of your customer and how to provide excellent customer service.


For those of you who are looking to take your career further our well established administration apprenticeship could take you anywhere in the business; some of our apprentices are now in high flying positions such as Business Change Manager, Supply Chain Development Manager and Communications Business Partner.



We offer very competitive salaries starting from £11,475, increasing to £15,140 in year two.

Successful candidates will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements and may be required to complete a medical assessment.
Each of our apprentice opportunities are based at Devonport Royal Dockyard which is located in the vibrant city of Plymouth, Devon in the south west of England.

Marine Sector of Babcock International Group. The Marine Sector delivers a wide array of complex through-life marine engineering services. Ranging from UK and international naval fleet support, commercial marine, engineering consultancy, weapons handling, equipment support, intelligence, cyber security and training delivered through unique owned and managed infrastructure to defence and civil customers across the globe.
