Who we are looking for?

 

Here at Babcock International, we are looking for an Access Officer to join the team in the reception centres in Devonport. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your customer service skills to help ensure Babcock are effective in supporting and delivering a secure site. You will be the first contact people will have when visiting the dockyard.


You will be working in a team administrating all site access, traffic applications and dealing with the Naval Base customers face to face. Training will be provided on the IT systems, however computer skills are essential for this role.

 

What will you be doing?


Your main responsibilities will be: 

  • To provide a professional customer service and gateway to the Devonport site.
  • To provide an effective and efficient counter service to ensure that Babcock Marine is in compliance with MoD contract requirements.
  • Processing all of the Naval Base applications for site traffic and access including VIP visits.
  • To review and identify improvements in processes with a view to continually improve the working environment, bringing in efficiencies and effective outputs that are value for money.
  • Promote the team ethos in the reception centres.
  • Strive to meet the contractual KPI’s.

 

The experience you’ll bring 

 

  • You will need customer service experience, ideally in a receptionist role.
  • You will need the ability to use and pick up computer software quickly.
  • 5 GCSE’s including English & Maths (or equivalent). 
  • You will have completed or willing to complete NVQ 2 Administration.
  • You will need to satisfy security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving ‘Security Check’ (SC) clearance.
