Technical Editor – 6 Month Term Position

 Ottawa, Ontario

In this role, you will:

 

  • Provide Technical Editing support to the project team including:
    • Coordinating the production of project documents
    • Copy, editing and proofreading
    • Creating, improving, and populating standardized templates and structured documents
    • Assist with the roll out of new documents and templates to staff as required
  • Provide Document Management support to the project team including:
    • Registering and capturing of documents in the document management systems, and issuing of controlled documents as required
    • Circulating documents for review, information and acceptance
    • Support project team to help ensure compliance with approved process for document management
  • Provide assistance with regular status reporting as required
  • Complete other duties as necessary.

 

As our ideal candidate, you

 

  • Have 1-2 years’ experience in a similar type role
  • Possess advanced oral and written communication skills
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work a part of a team or independently
  • Are detail oriented and possess excellent time management skills with a focus on meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Have intermediate to advanced experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro, MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and Sharepoint or other document management systems
  • Hold a Reliability Security Clearance (Secret Security Clearance would be a definite asset)
  • Previous experience with technical/naval terminology is considered an asset
