Senior Manager, Finance- FAcT (Permanent Full Time)

In this role, you will:

 

  • Work with the Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) capture team to develop the aviation solution
  • When required, attend weekly meetings in the Ottawa office as part of the FAcT capture team
  • Prepare and manage bid budgets and forecasts; and assume cost centre ownership
  • Develop the financial solution and ensure that proposals are financially robust and meet internal governance requirements
  • Work as part of multi-disciplined teams to challenge and support all members of the bid team in the development of financially robust and commercially strong solutions in response to customer requirements
  • Support and challenge the bid team with relevant modelling, analysis and technical advice
  • Ensure that correct technical accounting / finance and other specialist advice is incorporated into bids (e.g. pensions, depreciation, inflation, tax and amortisation)
  • Understand and evaluate capital financing issues on the bid, workforce modelling requirements including productivity assumptions, salary benchmarks and cost of employment uplifts
  • Support the production of risk and opportunity registers, and present the financial impact of these as part of the governance review process
  • Own and update a (cost) master data assumptions list for each bid
  • Support customer, supplier and partner negotiations with decision support information enabling accurate and value based decisions to be made
  • Work with operational teams to ensure an effective transition of tenders into operational contracts
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to senior management (including board level) and gain the relevant approvals to submit tenders, against the governance requirements
  • Manage direct requests for reports as required

 

The ideal candidate:

 

  • You hold a minimum of a Bachelors of Commerce with a focus in accounting or combination of education and relevant experience
  • You have a minimum 10 years’ experience as a senior accountant or similar as well as CPA designation
  • Experience working a fast-paced, high volume, deadline- focused work environment is considered an asset
  • You have detail-oriented, have strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem resolution skills
  • You demonstrate excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and an ability to produce quality results in a timely manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance
