In this role, you will:

  • Oversee the monthly deadlines, ensuring AP and AR are on track to meet deadlines.
  • Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts for month end and year-end close.
  • Assist with HST/GST remittances.
  • Review and post journal entries.
  • Review and approve payment batches.
  • Process, post and/or review customer invoicing prior to submission.
  • Review and locking timecards in Ceridian DayForce.
  • Verify payroll and DayForce time and rates are consistent.
  • Review, process and post payroll journal entries.
  • Review Vena for accuracy and book required entries as needed
  • Assist with weekly cash forecast.
  • Assist with monthly management reports.
  • Audit support as required.
  • Other duties as necessary     

The ideal candidate brings:

  • CPA designation or near completion is preferred.
  • You have a minimum 5 years experience as a Senior Accountant or similar.
  • Experience working a fast-paced, high volume, deadline- focused work environment is considered an asset
  • You have detail-oriented, strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem resolution skills
  • You demonstrate excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and an ability to produce quality results in a timely manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance
  • Software requirements:
    • Proficient in Excel (advance level required)
    • Knowledge/experience working within an ERP.  We use IFS, however specific IFS know is not required
    • Knowledge of Dayforce would be considered an asset
    • Knowledge of Vena would be considered an asset
    • Knowledge of SAP BPC would be considered an asset
  • Proof that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, meaning that you must have received the full series of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by the Government of Canada with the final dose at least 14 days prior to your start date
  • You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance
