In this role, you will:

 

  • Draft clear and engaging content for various internal communication mediums, including our intranet, bulletins and other tools
  • Help employees learn more about company initiatives and projects, our successes and our people
  • Provide support in the planning and organizing of events, both virtually and in -person, including employee conversation sessions
  • Partner with the Marketing and Communications team to share exciting and relevant information with employees in a timely manner and via the most appropriate channel/s
  • Provide communication support services to internal stakeholder in the planning, design and delivery of internal initiatives and campaigns to create employee awareness and increase participation
  • Champions, promotes and coordinates the execution of planned internal special events designed to support, facilitate and enhance employee engagement
  • Ensures intranet content is relevant, adheres to brand guidelines, increases employee engagement and readership, and promotes Babcock’s culture.
  • In consultation with the Human Resources Director, maintains and updates a master calendar of campaigns, initiatives and events,
  • Prepares and distributes cascading organizational announcements.
  • Composes and takes photos of internal events and activities
  • Provides technical communications support to the business where unique situations arise unexpectedly and have an impact on the employees
  • Participates in planning the response including researching and presenting new ideas to facilitate employee acceptance of changes in the workplace environment
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of communications approaches, processes and tools through continuous learning initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as necessary

 

As our ideal candidate,

 

  • A minimum of three years’ previous related experience in a marketing or communication role
  • A demonstrated proficiency in the application of business, creative and technical writing concepts and tools in a corporate environment
  • Experience with event coordination and execution would be an asset
  • You have a post-secondary degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, or related degree program.
  • You have strong writing, copy editing and proofreading skills
  • You have excellent verbal communication skills
  • You are able to work with a variety of stakeholders and able to contribute to a fast-moving and agile team
  • You are creative and fully conversant with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook). Experience using Adobe Creative Suite would be an asset.
  • You have the ability to work independently, as part of a team, and for self-directed learning; ability to learn new information quickly and to stay current with new innovations
  • Basic knowledge of photography tools such as digital cameras would be an asset
  • Proof that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, meaning that you must have received the full series of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by the Government of Canada with the final dose at least 14 days prior to your start date
  • You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance
