In this role, you will:

 

  • Manage and/or assist non-complex projects in support of the sustainment of Canada’s fleet of Victoria Class Submarines. These projects vary from modifications to the submarines through to management of new process initiatives in support of the wider Submarine Enterprise.
  • Be responsible to the Senior Project Manager for the delivery of associated Submarine Sustainment Projects.
  • Develop and maintain a close working relationship with the submarine project customers and Sustainment Project Stakeholders.
  • Assist with the development of sub-contracts with Procurement Sub-Contract Managers in support of the assigned projects
  • Ensure compliance with all working practices is maintained at all times within the project, paying particular attention to corporate procedures, safety standards, and local project specific procedures as necessary
  • Ensure all Quality and Health & Safety standards are maintained and communicate Health and Safety issues as required

 

As our ideal candidate,

 

  • You will have a recognized University degree or College diploma in Engineering,  Project Management, or a related field
  • You will have, or are working towards, Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in good standing with the Project Management Institute (PMI)
  • You have at least 1-3 years experience in a project management role successfully supporting complex projects with multiple stakeholders with budgets between $500K and $5M.
  • Ideally you will have relevant recent work experience within a Marine ISS environment  
  • You will be capable of working professionally and objectively, assisting a project across multiple stakeholders.
  • You should be fully conversant in the use of Microsoft Products
  • Must be eligible for a Canadian NATO Secret Security Clearance, Canadian Controlled Goods and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) clearances.
  • Experience within the Marine Industry and particularly with Submarines is preferred (but not required).
