Calibration Technician

About the role

Reporting to the Calibration Services Manager and working in an interesting military aviation environment (Ohakea Base), this position is primarily responsible for the calibration and repair of test equipment for the RNZAF, under the guidance of Babcock NZ.

 

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Carry out calibration and repair activities on test equipment.
  • Identify and rectify faults in test equipment.
  • Ensure all maintenance, repair and calibration of equipment is carried out and completed.
  • Highlight any possible cost overruns or defects which may arise
  • Develop test procedures where required
  • Participate in approved training and keep abreast of technical advances associated with calibration activity.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports for Babcock and customers
  • Formulate technical reports with recommendations
  • Generate call up reports and communicate with the customer about their requirements

 

About You

To be successful in this position, you will have a relevant qualification and/or 5 years’ experience in a similar position. You will be skilled in electronic fault finding, reading and generating technical reports, providing recommendations and have the ability to work autonomously. If you have used computer controlled Automatic Test Equipment and /or precision Electronic Test Equipment, your application will be looked upon favourably. Over and above this you highly value health and safety of yourself and others.
