This is your opportunity to join us at Babcock International as a Workshop Operative. 
 
Who we are looking for?

We are looking for a Workshop Operative to support the NDC workshop in all aspects of Loading and Unloading, Housekeeping and the service and inspections of specialist plant and equipment. Providing adequate support to the 3 Forman within the NDC to carry out all necessary tasks to ensure the business is supported across all areas whilst working as part of the team and to strict deadlines. 

 

What will you be doing?

As a Workshop Operative you will be required:


•    To manage, organise and carry out all loading and unloading activates across the NDC, in support of the specialist plant and equipment departments
•    Assist with the load testing of lifting equipment and specialist plant items, ensuring projects are delivered safely and on time 
•    To prepare, inspect and certify lifting and other specialist equipment in line with LOLER and PUWER regulations against a site request
•    To inspect equipment that has been returned to from site, identifying damage and ensuring that all items are booked in to the warehouse
•    Attend projects as and when required to support the Plant and Equipment department throughout the UK

•    Actively participate in all safety and improvement initiatives as required
 
The experience you’ll bring 

•    Forklift (counter balance) Licence essential
•    Driving Licence
•    LOLER & PUWER qualifications would be desirable
•    Lifting Equipment Inspection desirable
•    Mechanical, hydraulic and electrical equipment desirable
