This is your opportunity to join Babcock as a Project Manager - DND Oman.


The goal of the DND business offering is to become the best Naval maintenance option in the Middle East, so it is an important time to join the team. Your time will be spent between Muscat and Duqm. Duqm is a more remote location, with simple accommodation but the environment provides the benefit of operating within a truly multi-cultural environment


Becoming a Project Manager within Duqm Naval Dockyard (DND) Oman will provide an exciting opportunity for an individual who thrives within a fast-paced environment, wants to gain international experience and bring a dynamic perspective to the existing operation.


Depending on your level of Middle East experience or exposure to Babcock, you will either be posted straight out to Oman or require a period of time undergoing induction in the UK. This could include some basic language training.


Who we are looking for?

We are looking for a Project Manager with experience in delivering complex naval marine maintenance and repair projects including refit work and the ability to create a collaborative environment where delivering a common goal becomes the focal point?

What will you be doing?

Your key responsibilities will include:

•    Provide HSSE insight to DND and ODC reporting any incidents through the correct channels
•    Support the Head of Operations to continue the development and capability of DND to undertake Maintenance, Repair and Refit work in Oman Drydock Company (ODC)
•    Support the Bid Manager in all solicitations, providing estimation, schedules and other contractual documentation required for the bidding process.
•    Produce quantitative schedule risk analysis to inform the project/programme bid process.
•    Review project reporting KPIs, undertake investigations and implement changes as required
•    Ensure commercial compliance is maintained and change management is managed throughout the projects
•    Effectively manage the customer interface (including all commercial aspects)

The experience you’ll bring 

•    A background in leading successful naval marine projects
•    A track record of developing and nurturing key stakeholder relationships (both internal and external) to achieve results.
•    Well-developed commercial acumen within a complex project delivery environment, including contract oversight; and the identification and management of benefits and risk.
•    Capable of working professionally and objectively with minimal direction and have notable experience of project management, methodologies and controls
•    Recognised project management qualifications, ideally accredited by the Association for Project Management (APMP).
•    Capable of working in a high paced and environmentally challenging location Duqm (Oman)
•    Technical knowledge of Naval Marine Equipment and Systems.
•    Ability to work in a multi-cultural collaborative environment.
•    A full passport (with 2 years remaining) and a driving license
•    You should hold or have the ability to obtain SC Clearance
