Senior HS&E Advisor (Audit)
Permanent, full time

About the role
Here at Babcock International we are looking for a Senior Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor to plan, organise and deliver the HS&E audit programme across all business units, contracts sites in the Sector.

You will be auditing the compliance of all Land Sector business units and contracts with HS&E regulations, standards, policies, procedures and their contractual obligations. You will be required to prepare written audits reports, make recommendations for improvement and present the findings to management.

You will be required to travel to various sites across the UK as well as occasional visits to Europe.

You must live in a commutable distance to Watford for this position.

Key responsibilities:
• Completion of HS&E Site audits ensuring that Health, Safety, and Environment in line with current legislative and Babcock Behaviour and Expectations booklet is being adhered to by all Staff and contractor/sub-contractors teams.
• Evaluating HS&E procedures and performance, and providing coaching and feedback to site management and Business Unit HSE teams.
• Provide information and guidance to Management teams on health and safety legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Conducting risk assessments as required.
• Support the Land Sector HS&E team with site inspections, accident investigations and assist with the implementation and development of new process controls and systems to improve safety of operations
• Maintain an in depth, up to date knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental regulations and legislation
• Assist with the development of KPI’s based on occupational Health and Safety, process safety, environment and sustainability procedures
• Record audit findings and report recommendations in order to implement overall health & safety improvements
• Liaise with the BU HS&E Leads to ensure that actions arising from audits and investigations are completed within the agreed time.


Qualifications required
• Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health
• Must be at least working towards Chartered membership of the Institute of Occupational Health & Safety (CMIOSH)


Skills required
• Experience of conducting health and safety auditing
• Post qualification experience is a HS&E Advisors role
• Excellent IT skills with experience producing reports
• Excellent communication skills


What else do I need to know?
• You must be willing to do regular UK based travel

• Must have access to a vehicle and hold a full UK driving licence
• All expenses will be covered for away travel and overnight stays
• You will work a 37.5 hour week Monday-Friday
• All applicants must have or be able to obtain SC security clearance
