We are now actively recruiting for a Baggage Combined Control Room (BCCR) Operator. The main purpose of the role is to operate and monitor the baggage handling system via the various computer controlled system and Closed Circuit TV (CCTV).



  • To ensure conformance with all Health, Safety & Environmental requirements and contribute to all staff going home safe everyday.
  • You have a duty to protect the information assets of the Company. You must comply with the Company’s Information Assurance policies and procedures
  • To know at least how to operate either the East OR West baggage system.
  • To produce a daily report for the area of operation you are responsible for.
  • To ensure the standards of housekeeping and presentation match the quality requirements of Babcock and our customers.
  • To commit to the concept of constant improvement in our procedures, protocols and operating techniques.
  • To ensure the highest quality of information, reports and communications are being delivered to our customers and internally.
  • To take a role in the training and familiarisation of new starters.
  • To establish a positive relationship with HAL, the airlines and other suppliers in the Airport.
  • To promote the highest levels of professionalism and image in our customer service environment. 
  • To identify continuous improvement initiatives.
  • To develop an understanding of the requirements of the airport and the airlines’ operations.
  • To be a team member in an environment where teamwork is key.
  • To have a positive, proactive and motivating attitude.
  • Daily core activities include:-
  • To work in a safe manner and ensure all staff responding to their call outs are working safely and following company procedures.
  • To have ownership of the area of the baggage system they are operating
  • Maintain the fault report with incidents that have a significant impact on the BHS
  • To compile and maintain daily reports of significant events and relevant statistical information
  • Carry out LPC traces
  • Compile lane full figures
  • Compile handover report for morning / late shift
  • Understand Contingency procedures
  • Compilation of performance data
  • To operate and monitor the baggage handling system via the various computer controlled system and Closed Circuit TV (CCTV).
  • Positively monitor the baggage system status ensuring the highest quality of information and communications are being delivered to our customers.
  • Allocate arrivals flights
  • Implement and understand contingency’s
  • Configuring routes, inputting operational data, reaching to charging system conditions.

Offers of employment are normally subject to satisfactory to Security Clearance requirements.


If you do not have the Security Clearance required for a particular role you may not be able to start your employment until clearance has been obtained. In certain roles, you will need to satisfy requirements in order to gain an Airside Pass. To secure an Airside Pass, you will be required to provide full referencing for the last five years; accounting for any gaps in employment for 28 days or longer. You may also need to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (previously CRB checks).
