About the role

 

Supporting the engineering and maintenance activities for Counter- Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive (C-CBRNE) assets, you will be responsible for maintaining the technical integrity, maintenance regimes, parts and publications on the behalf of the ADF.

 

This position is part of a high performing and efficient Technical Services team within Babcock, which focusses on the sustainment of the C-CBRNE fleet. As a valuable team member, you will be required to provide subject matter expertise across a broad range of technical services to support the on-call Service Desk, which operates from within the team on a weekly rotational basis.

 

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

 

  • Analysing engineering change requests and developing engineering changes;
  • Developing technical information for technical records, publications and data by preparing and submitting requests for approval;
  • Technical assessment and safety analysis of new items and proposed changes to existing C-CBRNE equipment to determine preventive maintenance regimes;
  • Managing the baseline configuration of C-CBRNE assets and ensuring publications and defence MIS reflect the current approval status of maintenance plans, schedules, maintenance venues and authorised parts;
  • Managing corrective assets beyond the capability of the ADF repair venues;
  • Monitoring and auditing CCBRNE maintenance assets conducted by external providers; and
  • Handling CCBRNE service desk enquiries from the customer, and external maintenance providers.

 

 

About you

With a passion for the Defence industry, you will be dedicated to becoming an integral member of Babcock’s Defence business unit. You will be a decisive, confident and articulate communicator with the ability to work autonomously in a demanding role. You will build strong working relationships with multiple stakeholders and pride yourself on your ability to provide subject matter expertise to a broad range of services. You will have experience in a similar role and possess the following:
 

  • Certificate III (or above) in a relevant discipline (electronics, electrical, mechanical engineering).
  • Completion of MILIS Maintenance Work Order Administration course.
  • Completion of MILIS Warehouse Manager course or the ability to obtain the qualification.
  • Understanding of Maintenance Requirements Determination and Logistics Support Analysis in the Defence environment.
  • Experience in a Technical Assessing role.
  • Australian Citizen with NV1 security clearance.
  • Understanding of C-CBRNE.
