The role

As an Apprenticeship Coach, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will assess, monitor and sample learner output in order to prove competency for the Engineering Diploma Electronic pathway. 

 

Day-to-day, you’ll conduct regular learner reviews checking progression / H&S / E&D, administer documentation and invigilate tests in order for learner to achieve the full Engineering qualifications as laid down in the Apprenticeship Standards.

 

  • Setting and reviewing progressive training objectives, mentoring, assessment and verification of Functional Skills / Vocational programmes with learners as per caseload and contractual requirements. Monitor student progress toward achievement and give feedback where appropriate.
  • To undertake the “Mapping” of the Diploma Level 2 PEO and Technical Certificate Level 3 and subsequent QCF qualifications where necessary and to ensure currency and validity is satisfied for any audits.
  • To check learner cross referencing and sampling of portfolio evidence in the assessment of technical/practical qualifications within the qualification pathway.
  • To instruct, monitor, assess/verify and invigilate tests for Vocational qualifications in Engineering at level 2/3 where necessary.
  • This position involves travel/working across a range of internal and customer sites, as a requirement of the role.

 

This role is full-time, 37 hours per week, offered on a 52-Week Fixed-Term contract. There is a requirement to travel to MOD sites across Wiltshire on a weekly basis, alongside home working arrangements.

 

Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. Essential experience of the Apprenticeship Coach - Electronics

  • Experienced within an Electronics Engineering environment
  • Good understanding of work-based learning programmes
  • Experience in assessing Diploma/BTEC qualifications L2/L3 is desirable

 

Qualifications for the Apprenticeship Coach - Electronics

  • Hold CAVA or equivalent is desirable (opportunity to obtain in-house)
  • Cert Ed Level 3 or equivalent Adult Teaching Qualification
  • Industry related qualifications such as Diplomas, BTECs minimum level 3

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) and Electronic Disclosure and Barring Service (EDBS) security clearance for this role.
