Job Purpose 


The Programme Director will work as part of the Land Future Business Team, working alongside the Head of Business Winning in driving the quality application of the end-to-end Business Winning Methodology on Campaigns across the Sector. The Programme Director will perform a key role in the leadership of large and complex campaign teams to assure the quality and integration of business winning outputs that maximise win probability.

 

Main Tasks:


•    Undertake the role of business winning functional lead on campaigns and major bid programmes working alongside the customer facing Campaign Director / ‘opportunity owner’ to lead the design and implementation of effective campaign programmes, ensuring campaign teams are resourced effectively to deliver against plans.
•    Work as part of the opportunity leadership team on campaigns/major programmes alongside the ‘opportunity owner’ and solution lead, acting as the initial point of escalation for the bid team on matters relating to the Business Winning Methodology and capture programme
•    Establish the campaign management organisation to oversee the delivery of specific campaigns and major programmes
•    Own the application of the Business Winning Methodology for specific campaigns, working closely with other functional leads to integrate the inputs/outputs of a range of different professional skills and competencies required from across the business to develop quality business winning outputs.
•    Own the development of business winning functional outputs, including campaign strategies, competitive assessments, win strategies, and value propositions that differentiate Babcock’s offering/proposal from the competition.
•    Develop partnering strategies
•    Drive objective analysis and decision making throughout all campaign activity to ensure customer influencing, propositions, and solutions developed provide the best chance of meeting the customer’s needs and winning.
•    Ensure the effective undertaking of business winning reviews and incorporation of independent challenge, including competitive assessment reviews (Black Team) and strategy reviews (Blue Team).
•    Work with the Campaign Director / ‘opportunity owner’ in developing effective stakeholder management strategies, planning, intelligence gathering, and influencing in line with the overall campaign strategy.
•    Ensure effective and objective opportunity qualification and application of the bid governance process.
•    Assist the ‘opportunity owner’ in the management of the Project Boards process in line with Sector guidelines.
•    Undertake internal stakeholder management tasks as required, including supporting internal marcomms and briefings throughout the Group
•    Support and guide the appointed business winning manager and/or bid manager in the effective day-to-day management and facilitation of complex plans, workstreams, and business winning activities
•    Assist the Head of Business Winning in implementing lessons learned and continuous improvement.
•    Support wider growth activity within the Land Future Business Team as required.
•    Work in an effective collaborative manner with all stakeholders, displaying the appropriate behaviours at all times.
•    Support the Campaign Director / ‘opportunity owner’ in undertaking their duties as required.


Person Specification


•    Senior business winning professional with significant experience in the application of recognised business winning methodologies on major bid programmes.
•    Strong understanding and experience of managing the capture phase of opportunities, including the production of complex capture outputs
•    Strong project management experience 
•    Ability to motivate and lead large and dynamic multi-functional teams.
•    Strong financial and commercial awareness.
•    Experience of business winning within service-based industries
•    Educated to degree level
•    APMP qualification
