The role
The difference our new B3T Surface Finish Technician will make
As a B3T Surface Finish Technician you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Supporting on the Hawk contract at RAF Valley
Day to day, you’ll ensure that all Surface Finishing activities are completed in a safe and efficient manner, on time and to the highest standard, check that all equipment required for tasking is available and reporting all deficiencies, ensure all tool control procedures IAW the relevant Acceptable Means of Compliance are followed, ensure the completion of pre-printed work cards and maintenance procedures/Trilogyview/IMS.
The overall safety and security of Surface Finishing equipment under his/her control, ensure that all possible measures are taken to prevent FOD within aircraft and associated equipment. Progressing Surface Finish tasks as required, carry out additional duties as required by the Surface Finish Supervisor, maintain an effective changeover by debriefs or written log to provide a smooth transition and continuation of trade task’s between each shift (Where/when applicable), champion a culture of Near Miss and Error Reporting, maintain a PEVL to establish continuity of experience and maintain engineering standards as detailed in MAOS MAI MRP PART 145 MAINTENANCE ORGANISATION EXPOSITION (MOE) & MRP 145 Approval Supporting Documents.

Essential experience
• Training in relevant discipline to City and Guilds Level or level 2 equivalent.
• Use a combination of general and specialist engineering knowledge and understanding to apply existing and emerging technology
• Working knowledge and use of IT Operating Systems (MS Office Suite) and the Internet.
DESIRABLE:
• Proven industry experience
• Supervisors in Aviation
• Full Driving Licence
• IMS training - Off Aircraft Technician course
• Security clearance to BPSS/CTC level
• Obtain or have the ability to obtain BPSS Clearance
