The role
As a Health and Safety Manager you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Monitoring the application of the detailed arrangements for compliance with legislative requirements.

Day-to-day, you’ll help with the Day-to-Day management and assurance of SHEF (Safety, Health, Environmental and Fire) arrangements, as well as:

• Report directly to the Commanding Officer if it is considered further measures are required to achieve compliance. 
• Act as focal point for SHEF information. 
• Maintain a SHEF Plan covering all the main SHEF management areas which encompasses local issues. 
• Monitor all workplace and fire risk assessments for 7 Avn Sp Bn REME. 
• Act as the Secretary, write and circulate the minutes of the SHEF Committee.
• Conduct the annual SHEF audits on all areas, reporting findings and produce annual report on the overall standard.

This role is full time and based onsite at Wattisham Airfield.

Essential experience of the Health and Safety Manager:

• Good knowledge of SHEF practices and procedures.  
• Familiar with Military and/or MOD practices and procedures advantage but not necessary.
• Good interpersonal skills and Computer Literate.

Qualifications for the Health and Safety Manager:

• NEBOSH – National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.

Security Clearance

• The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain SC Clearance.
