Environmental Practitioner

About the role

Here at Babcock International we’re looking to recruit an Environmental Practitioner to join our Health, Safety and Environment team at Babcock, supporting the organisation’s ongoing environmental management activities at HM Naval Base Clyde.
Specific areas of responsibility will include providing specialist environmental advice and guidance, working to ensure continued legal compliance and maintenance of ISO 14001:2015 certification through a programme of environmental inspections and audits


What do I need to do the role?

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate previous experience of environmental management with prior exposure to areas such as contaminated land, resource efficiency, waste, energy management, ecology, biodiversity and water quality. Associate-level membership of IEMA would be an advantage. Ideally, you would also have a working knowledge of the EU Emissions Trading scheme.
You should have previous experience of working with ISO 14001 and be experienced in conducting audits against this standard.

Key areas of competency we require are as follows:

• Degree level qualification in Environmental Management or other relevant discipline.
• Qualified Auditor
• Effective planning, prioritisation and project management skills.
• Strong team working and interpersonal skills.
• Report writing and presentational skills.
