Configuration Management Specialist (Permanent)

In this role, you will:


  • Support the configuration-management infrastructure for a large Naval program in order to meet customer obligations.
  • Support partitioning and classification of customer data.
  • Work directly with engineering and other internal stakeholders to ensure the required interface support is in place to meet program obligations.
  • Support efforts to achieve a staged transition to EIA-649-C compliance.
  • Support transitioning of legacy data to a modern Integrated Data Environment (IDE).
  • Support transitioning of legacy data to a modernized data-model by ensuring the model provides for effective configuration management.
  • Update existing processes to comply with standards, as required.
  • Participate in working groups with the customer, as required.
  • Support processing of customer & company data records.
  • Support the pursuit of new programs, as required.


You possess the following mandatory criteria:


  • You are have excellent organizational skills and are able to work effectively within a team environment.
  • You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance.
  • Post-secondary education credentials in a technical field with minimum one year experience embedded in (or working closely with) configuration management for a Naval or Aerospace program;
  • A demonstrable understanding of five primary CM activities:
    • Identification of system elements that should be maintained under configuration control;
    • Level of information required to ensure system/product integrity;
    • Control cycles for evaluation, approval, validation and verification of engineering change requests;
    • Development, maintenance of configuration control documentation;
    • Configuration audits and baselines.

The following criteria are considered desirable:


  • Education within an engineering discipline;
  • Recent experience with the EIA-649 standard.
